Adding a booking tool to your yoga website: Link, button or widget?

Buchungstool auf der Yoga-Website einbinden

Someone has found your studio on Google. They click through to your website and see beautiful photos and a class schedule. Now they want to book. And they search. Right at the bottom, they find a phone number and a contact form.

This is where you lose potential customers. Not because your offer isn't right for them. But because the way to booking is too long.

This article shows you how to bring your booking tool to your website. Which options there are, what's enough for small studios and where the button works best.

Why booking belongs on your website

Anyone who lands on your website is already interested. They searched, clicked and looked around. Only the last step is missing.

Every extra step costs bookings. Writing an email. Waiting for a reply. Calling during opening hours. Many people put it off and then forget.

Online booking also works at eleven at night. Which is exactly when many people plan their week in peace. And it takes work off your plate: No back-and-forth messages, no double bookings. If you still take bookings by phone or messenger, read our article on booking via WhatsApp.

Three ways to add your booking tool

The simplest option. You place a link to your booking page on your website. One click, and your customer is there.

It works with every website builder and needs no technical knowledge. The downside: A plain text link is easy to miss. And your customer lands on a separate page that looks different from your website.

The booking button

Technically, it's the same link. It just looks different: A clearly visible button in your brand colour. That makes a big difference. A button instantly says that you can do something here.

For most studios, this is the best place to start. It takes a few minutes.

The embedded widget

Here, booking appears directly on a page of your website. Your customer stays with you and books there.

It feels seamless. But it also has downsides. On a phone, an embedded window can feel cramped. The page may load more slowly. And because content from another provider loads on your site, you should check your privacy policy.

Note: This is not legal advice. Whether and how you need to update your privacy policy depends on your website and the services you use. If in doubt, ask a professional.

What's usually enough for small studios

Honestly: For most small studios, a well-placed button is enough. Whether booking then happens on a separate page or embedded is secondary.

Three things matter much more. The button is easy to find. It's clearly labelled. And it leads straight to booking, not to a page in between.

A widget is mainly worth it if your website relies heavily on a consistent design. Or if you don't want your customers to notice that they're using an external tool.

Where your booking button belongs

In the navigation. Many people expect the most important action in the top right corner. "Book now" belongs there, not just "Contact".

On the first screen of your homepage. People who don't want to scroll should still see right away how to continue.

On your class schedule page. This is where the decision is made. Ideally, every class has a button that leads directly to that class.

On every class page. Someone who has read the description and is convinced shouldn't have to search. You'll find out how to write texts like that in our article on writing class descriptions.

And on mobile. Many website builders let you add a button that stays visible while scrolling. Give it a try.

Important: Use the same label everywhere. "Book now" or "Book a class" is clearer than "Learn more" or "Click here".

The menus differ. The principle is the same everywhere.

  1. Copy the link to your booking page.
  2. Add a button element to your website.
  3. Label the button and paste in the link.
  4. Save and publish the page.
  5. Open your website on your phone and test the button.

Two more details. Decide whether the booking page should open in the same tab or a new one. On a phone, the same tab is often more convenient. And after every bigger website update, check that all links still work.

Your booking link doesn't only work on your website. You can share it wherever customers find you:

  • In your Instagram bio
  • In your Google Business Profile
  • In your email signature
  • In WhatsApp messages to interested people
  • As a QR code on flyers or at the entrance

That way, every path leads to the same place.

Common mistakes

The button says "Contact"

A contact form isn't a booking. People who want to book look for the word "book".

If the button on a class page leads to the general overview, your customer has to search for the class again. Link directly to the right class instead.

The schedule as a PDF

A downloadable PDF is a pain on a phone. And it goes out of date fast. An online schedule with booking is always current.

Never tested on mobile

Many people visit your website from their smartphone. If the button slips out of place or is too small there, you lose exactly these people.

Your booking page with Slotlify

With Slotlify, you automatically get your own booking page at an address like your-studio.slotlify.eu. There, your customers see what you offer, choose a date and time and book. You simply put this address on your button.

Straight to the right class

Every service has its own link. So the button on your class page leads directly to the right offer. Your customer doesn't have to search.

Booking without an account

Your customers can register or book as a guest. So first-timers don't need to create an account.

Pay online or on site

Customers pay online via Stripe. From the Light plan upwards, you can also offer payment on site.

Widget on request

Want to embed booking directly in your website? Get in touch. We'll provide an embed widget on request.

You can start with the free plan. It has no time limit.

Don't have a suitable website yet, or is yours showing its age? Slotlify is built by the team at Linxnpix. We also create websites for yoga, Pilates and fitness studios, with Slotlify booking built in if you like. Find out more about websites for yoga studios.

Checklist: Is your website ready for bookings?

  • Is there a booking button in the navigation?
  • Can you see it on the homepage without scrolling?
  • Does the button on class pages lead directly to the right class?
  • Is the label the same and clear everywhere?
  • Have you tested everything on your phone?
  • Is your booking link also on Instagram, Google and in your signature?

Do the test now. Open your website on your phone and count the clicks to booking. More than two? Then you know where to start.
