How do I create subpages for my booking page?
About subpages
With subpages, you create your own content pages for your booking page. Typical examples are the imprint, terms and conditions and privacy policy. But you can also create other pages, for instance about your studio, your house rules or frequently asked questions.
Until now, you could only store external addresses for your legal pages, pointing to another website. Now you have a choice. Either you keep linking outwards, or you write the text directly in Slotlify and publish it under your own booking address.
For operators in Germany, this is particularly handy, because an imprint, a privacy policy and terms and conditions are mandatory there and need to be easy to find.
Where to find your subpages
You'll find the feature in your dashboard under Booking page > Subpages. There you see all pages you've already created, with the columns Name, Address, Status, Updated and Actions.
Using the Address field, you can search for a specific page. With the View button, you define which columns are displayed.
How many subpages you can create depends on your plan. Once your limit is reached, no new page can be created. Pages already created aren't affected and stay online.
Creating a new page
Click on + Create new page in the top right. The Edit page form opens.
Name
The title of your page, for example Imprint. It appears on the page itself and in your overview.
Address (slug)
The address determines the URL under which your page will be reachable. Only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens are allowed. If you enter imprint, the page is reachable under your booking address followed by /imprint. Below the field, Slotlify shows you the complete address directly.
A few addresses are reserved by the system and can't be used, for example terms Slotlify needs for the cart or the booking itself. If you try one of them, you'll get a notice. Each address can also only be assigned once within your company.
Think the address through before you publish the page. If you change it later, the old address is no longer reachable. Anyone who saved or linked it will end up nowhere.
Active
This checkbox controls whether the page is publicly reachable. Only active pages are visible on your booking page and can be used as a company link. If you deactivate a page, it disappears from your shop without you having to delete it. That's handy while you're still working on a text.
Content
Here you write the text of your page. The editor offers everything you need for informational and legal texts.
Using the selection field on the left, you switch between body text and headings. With the buttons next to it, you format bold, italic and strikethrough, create bulleted and numbered lists, insert links and add a horizontal rule.
You can also paste your text from another program, for example from an imprint generator. Afterwards, check briefly whether the formatting was carried over cleanly.
Below the editor, you see when the page was created and when it was last edited. Then save your changes using the Savebutton.
Managing existing pages
In the overview, the Actions column gives you a menu with four options for each page:
- Edit – opens the page in the form.
- Copy address – copies the complete address to the clipboard so you can share or link it.
- View in shop – opens the page the way your customers see it.
- Delete – removes the page permanently.
The Status column shows you whether a page is active. The Updated column shows when you last edited it.
Using subpages as company links
So that your legal pages also appear in the footer of your booking page, you connect them under Account > Company > Company links. Click on Edit there.
For each link, three options are available to you. You either select one of your own subpages, store an external address, or specify that no link should be displayed. That way, you can maintain your imprint in Slotlify, for example, while pointing to an existing privacy policy on your main website.
Good to know
If a subpage is connected as a company link, it can't simply be deleted. Slotlify points out that you first need to repoint the link to a different target. This protects you from accidentally removing your linked imprint.
If you deactivate a connected page, the link in the footer is hidden instead of leading nowhere. A warning then appears in your dashboard. If the page is legally required, reactivate it promptly or point to an external address.
Your subpages are always stored in the language set for your booking page. If you switch the language later, the pages are initially empty in the new language and you need to write them again there. Your existing texts aren't lost in the process. If you switch back, they reappear. As long as a translation is missing, Slotlify continues to show your customers the existing version, so that legally required pages don't suddenly disappear.
One last note on our part: Slotlify provides the tool but doesn't review the content of your pages. You're responsible yourself for the accuracy of your imprint, terms and conditions and privacy policy. When in doubt, have the texts reviewed by a lawyer, because in Germany incorrect mandatory information can lead to a formal warning with costs. Please note that these legal obligations apply to German law. The requirements in your country may differ.
