Create a New Event
Create an event in Slotlify
In Slotlify, you can create events that your customers can book later. An event is a specific bookable appointment with a date, time, and assigned service.
This could be, for example, a yoga class, tennis training session, dance lesson, workshop, consultation, or medical appointment. Your events can later appear in your public booking catalog, which is available through your organization’s individual Slotlify address.
You manage these events directly in your dashboard.
How to open the event creation page
To create a new event, go to your dashboard and open:
Events > + Add new
The form “Create New Event” will open. Here you define when the event takes place, which service can be booked, and whether the event is a one-time or recurring event.
The most important fields
Event name
In the Event name field, enter the name of the event.
Examples:
- Morning Yoga
- Tennis Training for Beginners
- Pilates Group Class
- Initial Consultation
- Workshop: Stress Management
The name should be clear and easy for your customers to understand. Avoid internal wording that only your team understands.
Select a service
In the Service field, choose which service this event belongs to.
This is important because the service is the basis of your bookable offer. For example, the service can include the price, description, duration, or other settings.
Example:
You have already created the service “Yoga Class”. When creating the event, you select this service and then define when this specific yoga class takes place.
If you have not created a suitable service yet, you should create the service first.
Start date
In the Start date field, define when the event begins.
Here you select the date and time.
Example:
26/04/2026, 1:00 PM
The start date is especially important because it determines when the event becomes available in the calendar and booking catalog.
End date
In the End date field, define when the event ends.
Example:
If your yoga class starts at 1:00 PM and lasts 60 minutes, set the end date to:
26/04/2026, 2:00 PM
Make sure that the start and end times match the actual duration of your service.
One-time event or recurring event
When creating an event, you can decide whether it should be a one-time event or a recurring event.
By default, the “Recurring event” section is not active. In this case, you create a single event for a specific date and time.
This is useful for individual events such as:
- a one-time workshop
- a special training session
- a single consultation
- a special event on a specific day
Create a recurring event
If you activate the checkbox “Recurring event”, the single event becomes a recurring event.
This is useful when an offer takes place regularly.
Examples:
- Yoga every Monday at 6:00 PM
- Dance training every Tuesday and Thursday
- Pilates every morning at 9:00 AM
- Monthly workshop on the 15th of every month
After activation, an additional section appears with the recurrence settings.
Select the recurrence type
You can define how often the event should repeat.
Daily
Select Daily if the event should take place every day.
This can be useful for:
- daily training sessions
- open classes
- regular consultation slots
- daily availability windows
Weekly
Select Weekly if the event should repeat on specific weekdays.
You can choose the days on which the event should take place.
Example:
Every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 PM
This option is especially useful for sports clubs, yoga studios, dance schools, trainers, and educational providers with fixed weekly schedules.
Monthly
Select Monthly if the event should take place every month on a specific date and time.
Example:
Every 10th of the month at 5:00 PM
This is suitable for monthly workshops, seminars, group meetings, or regular special offers.
Define when the recurrence ends
For recurring events, you can also define when the recurrence should end.
Never
If you select Never, the event repeats permanently.
This is useful for offers that take place regularly over the long term, such as a fixed weekly class or ongoing training.
On a specific date
You can set an end date if the event should only repeat until a specific point in time.
Example:
A summer course takes place every Wednesday, but only until 31/08/2026.
After a certain number of occurrences
You can also define that the event ends after a certain number of repetitions.
Example:
A training session should take place 10 times. After the tenth occurrence, the series ends automatically.
This option is especially helpful for offers with a clearly limited duration.
Send a reminder to customers
In the “Send reminder to customers” field, you can define whether customers should receive an automatic reminder before the event.
This helps reduce missed appointments and makes your organization more reliable.
If you do not want to send a reminder, you can leave the setting at Never.
Create the event
Once you have filled in all required fields, click:
Create event
The event will then be saved. A one-time event appears in the calendar and can become visible in the booking catalog if all required settings are configured correctly.
For a recurring event, Slotlify creates the corresponding event series based on your recurrence settings.
Practical example
You want to create a yoga class that takes place every Monday at 6:00 PM.
Proceed as follows:
- Open Events > + Add new.
- Enter Evening Yoga as the event name.
- Select the matching service, for example Yoga Class.
- Set the start date to the first Monday at 6:00 PM.
- Set the end date to the same day at 7:00 PM.
- Activate Recurring event.
- Select Weekly.
- Choose Monday as the recurrence day.
- Define whether the recurrence never ends, ends on a specific date, or ends after a certain number of events.
- Click Create event.
The yoga class is now created as a regular event.
Important notes
Create the matching service before you create an event. The event should always be connected to a specific offer.
Also check the start and end date carefully. If the times are incorrect, the event may be confusing for customers.
For recurring events, pay special attention to whether the recurrence should really run permanently. For seasonal offers, courses, or time-limited campaigns, a clear end date is often the better choice.
Summary
With events, you define in Slotlify when your services are bookable. You can create one-time events for individual offers or recurring events for regular schedules.
This is how you build your bookable calendar step by step, which your customers can later view and use through your public Slotlify catalog.
